MAT Announcements

Dear Students,

If you have created or are creating a Digital Portfolio as a student in a the MAT program this pertains to you.

If you have created a Digital Portfolio or are currently creating one using the tool located at this URL (http://cte.jhu.edu/login) please read this carefully.

The Digital Portfolio tool will be archived by July 1, 2015 for any students who created a Digital Portfolio between 2001-2015.  If you would like to have a static copy of your portfolio content along with any files that you uploaded to the file cabinet, please follow the directions below:

1. Log into your Digital Portfolio (http://cte.jhu.edu/login)

2. Click on the "Pressentations" page

3. Click "Download" next to the presentation that includes all portfolio content

4. A window will appear indicating that your presentation is being prepared.  Please be patient.  If you have a large presentation, this could take some time.

5.  Once your presentation has been prepared, another window will appear with a link to download the presentation folder.  Click on that link.

6.  Your presentation will download as a .zip folder.  Right click on the .zip folder and select "Extract All"

7. FOllow the steps to extract all files from the .zip folder

8.  You now have a folder with all files and static webpages from your Digital Portfolio.  If you click on "index.html", a static version of your portfolio presentation will be viewable.  You cannot make any changes since the presentation is no longer available online witin the tool; however, you can access all content.  If you follow this path within the folder, "ep/users/user#/uploads/", all files that were uploaded to your file cabinet witin your Digital Portfolio are available.

Important: You must download your portfolio content by July 1, 2015.  The Digital Portfolio tool will be archived after the date and thus, your login credentials will no longer work.  If you need any assistance accessing your portfolio and/or downloading it between now and July 1st, please contact the 24/7 technical support line at http://olms.cte.jhu.edu/technicalsupport/

All programs that require the use of a portfolio will be migrating to the Tk20 portfolio tool, except for the MSEd for TFA, which will be using the Blackboard Portfolio tool.  If you have an active portfolio you will be receiving direct communication from your program lead.

The following schedule has been adopted for the 2015-2016 Academic Year for students doing internships in the Part Time MAT Option.  This schedule will allow for May 2016 graduation.
 

Fall     August 17, 2015 – January 15, 2016
Spring  December 14, 2015– May 20, 2016
 

Attention Elementary Candidates

New PRAXIS II Requirements are in effect beginning September 1, 2014.   Please make sure that you take the correct test for certificaiton.

1. Elementary Education Elementary Education: Instructional Practice and Applications (5019)
2. Principles of Learnng and Teaching: Grades K-6 (Pedagogy) 5622

Be sure to check the MSDE and ETS websites for up to date information.

The MSDE Redesign for Teacher Education requires that all teacher candidates  serve in a minimum 100 day internbship across two consequtive semester.  The schdules for 2014-2015 are attached.

Dear Part Time MAT Students.
There will be an information meeting on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Columbia Center.  The purpose of this meeting will be to bring you up to date on the latest news about the Part Time Option, changes in personnel, PRAXIS information, and the MSDE 100 day internship requirement.  In order to help us plan for this meeting, please RSVP with Mr. Hoper at jhooper@jhu.edu.
