Explore the COS-TC quality practices below and the examples for two children, Norton and Emanuel. One team has had less discussion about measuring outcomes (Norton), and the other team has discussed measuring outcomes in detail at earlier encounters (Emanuel). The examples demonstrate only one approach to content during team discussions. They are not scripts to be memorized and repeated. Take time to reflect on the scenarios and explore other ways to have these discussions with families and other team members.

Click “view” to watch the videos and see the COS-TC interactive checklist. Use the COS-TC checklist to review the videos and indicate the extent to which the team observed each quality practice during the discussion for each outcome by marking yes, partly, or no. Yes indicates the practice was fully observed most or all of the time; partly indicates that the practice was observed some of the time or that some but not all of the practice was observed; and No indicates that the practice was not observed. After completing the checklist, answer the “Questions to Consider.” Then, click “view quality practice rating” to review completed ratings for each quality practice.
