Making Access Happen

Let’s review what we have discussed already. We identified our overall goals for the training. We defined DAP and talked about important points we need to consider when creating DAP program. By now we know that the bottom line of a DAP program means that it is age appropriate, individually appropriate, and culturally appropriate for each child in our care. We also talked about why implementing DAP elements in our programs is important and beneficial to the children in our care. We looked at an example of an educator implementing DAP in her program and reflected on her successes and any changes we could have made. And finally we identified the five guidelines of creating a DAP program.

This concludes the first session. We'll continue with Positive Guidance of Behavior in the next module.
