DaSy Stakeholders Module 2014

What to Expect

Image: Cycle of introduction
This Stakeholder Engagement module is presented in three sessions. Individual activities in each session are organized around an evidence-based cycle of instruction for online learning developed by Johns Hopkins University's Center for Technology in Education. The cycle follows a consistent format and sequence:

  • Set-Up-Establishes the purpose of the session and provides a Challenge Question to guide learning

  • Presentation-Presents the essential concepts, ideas, and skills related to the session's topic

  • Just for Me-Provides an opportunity for individual reflection, application of content, and resource gathering

  • Assessment-Checks for understanding of the essential concepts, ideas, and skills

  • Wrap-Up-Concludes the session with your response to the Challenge Question

Time Expectation

How much time is required to complete this module?

It is anticipated that each session will take you 30-40 minutes to complete. Therefore, the entire module should take approximately 2 hours to complete from start to finish. You may complete the module in one sitting or gradually work on it over time.

Interactive Features

This module is embedded with various interactive features to help facilitate your understanding of the content and promote active engagement. Some of the features also serve as assessment mechanisms. Below are descriptions of the interactive features that you will encounter:

  • Links to helpful websites and downloadable resource documents
    • When you see blue text anywhere in the module, this means there is an embedded link to an outside website or downloadable resource. When you click on the link, you will be directed to the outside website or resource through a new internet browser or application (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Word) window. To exit the outside website or close the resource, simply click on the "X" in the upper right corner of that window.
  • Multimedia Presentations
    • The Presentation component of each session features an audio-visual display of essential content.
  • Self-assessments
    • In each session, you have the opportunity to take brief assessments designed to provide immediate feedback on your performance; however, the "score" you receive is not saved in the Online Learning Management System (OLMS; i.e., the electronic platform in which the module exists). These assessments are simply intended to be quick probes for your own self-monitoring purposes.
