We also reviewed the six major steps in effective progress monitoring (Select measurement tool, Determine expected rate of progress, Plan for data collection, Collect and Share data, Analyze Results, to Make Instructional Decisions, and Continue to Collect & Analyze). And finally, we examined progress monitoring scenarios to identify the key characteristics and to determine if all critical components were evident.

Family Connection: Did you create graphs in easy-to-read formats in order to share with caregivers throughout the academic year? Are the progress monitoring results written in family-friendly language? Did you share tips / strategies that parents / caregivers can implement at home to help meet the child’s goals?
